Allen and Roth Curtains

These curtains are what you will most often see in stores and online.  These are generally split curtains made of polyester.  The length is generally somewhere between sixty inches and 70 inches depending on the size of your window.  Along with this, if you search hard enough you can actually find some custom built sizes so you don’t have to worry if you have a unique sized window that you want covered.

I love these types of window treatments because of how thick and heavy they are.  They really do a great job blocking out light.  With this thicker material you can be sure that you are in complete control of how much sun and light gets into your room.  Along with this, the heavy polyester definitely helps to soundproof your window a little bit.  I noticed a huge difference in sound when my neighbors were mowing their lawn after I put these curtains up.   These are quite similar to Allen Roth drapes and if you are in need of a drape or curtain for your living room, then I definitely suggest Allen and Roth.

Allen Roth Curtain Rods

After you have gone through and decided that you want a curtain set compared to blinds or anything else, then you have to put some thought into what Allen Roth curtain rods set you want.  There are quite a few different styles and curtain rod materials available for sale and I can see why it can be hard to decide.  I personally suggest you take a look at bronzed Allen and Roth curtain rods because personally I think they are magnificent!  But, you definitely need to take a look at styles.  The main styles I tend to see are bronzed rods and brass rods.  I have owned both of these, and they both look great, I think this is more of personal preference and what you want in your home.

Along with style, you need to make sure the sizes match up.  If you are looking at an Allen Roth drapery rod set, the sizes might not always match up with an a curtain set.  Generally they make the sizes pretty easy because rods normally have a pretty large range of sizes it can fit, and as long as you are in that range, you are good to go!

Allen Roth Blinds

If you like to be in control of how much light you specifically let into a room or into your house in general, you might want to consider Allen Roth blinds.  Many people don’t believe me when I say blinds and shades are not the same thing.  Shades generally cover a whole window and can’t be specifically controlled, while blinds can be deployed, and then you can specifically control how much or how little light gets through.   Blinds actually have specific slots that can be twisted to control how much light gets in called louvers or slats.  These are similar to shutters, although shutters usually are on the outside of a house and are much thicker and more durable to endure the elements.

I really think more people should consider blinds because of their functionality.  I love how you can twist the slats and be able to accurately control how much light is getting into your house.  This is a function you can’t really achieve with shades and roman shades.

Allen Roth Roman Shades

If you are looking for a more smooth style, and you want something flat and clean looking, then I definitely suggest taking a look at Allen Roth roman shades.  Roman shades are a little different than traditional shades or curtains because instead of being ribbed and having folds in them, these when displayed are flat, but they actually have panels that stack up flat when they are folded up.  These are sometimes referred to as cellular shades, but they are slightly different.

I love this design because of their looks and their functionality!  They are deployed with a string mechanism.  When you deploy them, the panels all line up, and the shades are flat.  But when you pull them up, all the panels stack onto each other and it looks clean without looking bunchy.  These are similar to Allen Roth roller shades, but instead of rolling when pulled up, these actually stack the panels.  Overall you can’t go wrong with these roman shades or any type of Allen Roth shades in general.
